Peptide Guide

How to Reconstitute Peptides Safely

Reconstitution means adding a suitable liquid to a lyophilized peptide so it can be measured for research handling. Clean technique matters.

Common supplies

  • Bacteriostatic water or another appropriate research solvent.
  • A sterile syringe and needle for transferring liquid.
  • Alcohol prep pads for vial tops and work surfaces.
  • A clean storage case for keeping vials organized.

Clean mixing approach

  1. Wash hands and work on a clean, stable surface.
  2. Wipe vial tops with alcohol pads and let them dry.
  3. Draw the selected liquid carefully.
  4. Introduce liquid slowly against the inside wall of the vial.
  5. Gently swirl. Do not aggressively shake.
  6. Label and refrigerate after preparation.

Why slow mixing matters

Peptides are delicate research materials. Gentle handling helps reduce foaming, agitation, and unnecessary stress on the compound.
